About ABLEnow
Trusted by Americans with disabilities in all 50 states, ABLEnow is the country’s largest independent ABLE program.
National ABLE Leader
Open to eligible individuals in all 50 states, ABLEnow is the largest independent ABLE program in the country. It is widely recognized for its leadership, commitment to financial wellness, and strong presence within disability communities.
History of ABLEnow
ABLEnow began with advocacy from Virginia families who identified a fundamental inequity: people with disabilities often could not save for the future without risking access to essential services and supports.
Their efforts helped shape the federal Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act. In 2015, Virginia became the first state in the nation to pass ABLE legislation following the federal ABLE statute.
After a federal change removed state residency requirements, ABLEnow opened for national enrollment in 2016. Since then, the program has grown into a trusted option serving individuals and families across the country.
